Director-writer Sujay Dahake is very happy after his film titled Tujhya Aaila has been selected for IFFI’s Indian Panorama. Sujay has won a National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi at 59th national Awards.
He speaks about the film and how he connects with it. The film explores about the verbal abuse. Sujay recalls his childhood and schooldays. "The abuse was so common in my friends no matter they came from good family. It was in their culture and they didn't mind also," he said.
Tujhya Aaila revolves around a 12-year-old urban boy who got admitted in a rural school after his family moves to a village following his father’s transfer. Unknown with the rural cultur, the boy is surprised when he is exposed to the culture of verbal abuse prevalent among his fellow-students. The film is all about how he manages in that culture and what he faces?
The film shooting has been done in Maharashtra and the locations is going well with the movie.
Sujay had also made web series on Sex, Drugs and Theatre. The Marathi web series threw light on the socio-cultural texture of Pune and talk about young theatre groups in the city.
